So Close...
... and yet so far. Still dealing with "life stuff", and still can't talk about it yet. Maybe in a few more weeks -- stay tuned. I can say that it is mostly positive rather than negative. In other news, Spock has gone where all men eventually go. Here's to ...

Sometimes, Life Just Goes Sideways
Nothing I can share at the moment, but wanted to leave this little note to say that the blog isn't dead and neither am I. However I may not be posting much for the next few weeks. Not that I post a lot anyway, but this amount of silence is unusual even for ...

I have to admit I really don't use Google+ much, but this group looked pretty cool so I have joined and will be keeping an eye on it. When my own book is ready, I will definitely post it here!

I'm on it daily, but have run into a massive road block in learning my way around Google+.  Same thing over at Goodreads. I think it's due to the lack of a center forum as seen in Scribophile. But I'm finding my way :)

The Joys of Country Living
Not sure if I have ever mentioned it before, but my wife and I live in a rural area, outside of a small town of about two thousand people. As such, we have no access to city water. Instead, we have a well and septic system. We also have a large propane tank...

Characters in the Balfrith Story

Story News
It's been a busy week since Thanksgiving, what with planning for Christmas, regular work, and starting to plan my next novel. Sorry for the irregular updates, we'll see if I can start to post a bit more often now that I am starting to work on another story....

Quick Update on Life
Just a brief update to say that life isn't quite as sideways as it was three weeks ago, but it has not fully righted itself yet either. Blogging will remain quiet for the next few weeks at least, although if I get a chance, I will post an update with some r...

Sorry For the Delay
It's been an interesting couple of weeks, which have kept me busy enough that I simply forgot to post. The day after we got our well repaired, one of our beloved pets got really sick. I had to put him down shortly thereafter, which ended the year on such a ...

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Spending a few days with extended family this week, eating too much, and generally having a lovely time. Hope everyone out there in the world is doing the same, as far as possible.

On Dragons
My conception of dragons is that they are an ancient race (well... species), as old as or perhaps even older than the race of Men and almost as old as Elves, who were the Firstborn.
They are born of fire and anger and passion, and in their youth they are ...
