Just a few weeks before my four years in the Coast Guard, I was spotted by a talent scout for Koppleman & Rubin Associates, NYC. On the day of my discharge, still in uniform, I was taken to meet Mr. Koppleman and Mr. Rubin and also Artie Kornfeld and Steve Duboff at a recording studio in NYC. There was a piano player there and I was asked to sing a few songs. A man smoking a cigar was behind the window in the control room. After singing, he came out and came to me and said, "Boy, you have to let your hair grow". On that day I signed a five year recording contract with Mercury Records, under the Phillips Label. My first and only record was called, "Goin' Lovin' With You", the flip side was called, "Nosense Nonsense", both songs written by Artie and Steve. A year later, due to my aging mothers health and my fathers, I asked for a release from my contract and it was granted. Both of my parents passed away within six months of each other a year later. I still have the pink promo copy of the record given to me by Mr. Koppleman, plus the still photos taken at Central Park by Artie Kornfeld and Steve Duboff. Photos were taken of Artie and Steve and well, as many taken of me in several locations in Central Park. The profile photo of me is one of those pictures taken by Artie for a possible album. I still love to sing and enjoy it no matter where I am. I live in south central Pa.
