Chick-Fil-A sets the gold standard for fast food restaurants. Service is top notch and friendly as can be. The space is a decent size, though the restrooms are quite small. Food is every bit as delicious as it is elsewhere.

Serious issues at this location. The food is perfectly fine, but if you ever go in there during a rush time, it is one of the most frustrating and confusing experiences you will ever have. Their line system is... well, there is no line system. People just clump up near the door. The employees will tell you you are supposed to line up behind each open register, but because employees don't stay behind the registers, it's impossible to tell which ones are actually open. And if you do bypass the clump as they suggest, the other customers still in the clump will give you the death-look. It's way too stressful an ordeal for a chicken sandwich! And just to be clear, their chicken sandwiches are very good. The management of the store... not so much.

Went to Chik-Fil-A this morning, there were bugs in the salad. First, we saw little gnats, weren't sure they were coming from the salad. Looked at the - half-eaten - salad more closely, saw a nasty little bright green bug with long antennae. I told the manager there were bugs in the salad, and she said "oh, the gnats". I showed her the green bug and told her they really needed to not sell the salad and she did not seem to take it seriously. Quite nasty bug, nearly made me vomit thinking about it. Who knows if I ate any of them? Needless to say, I will never go back. Too hard to post on the restaurant review sites, they all want you to sign up and get another password blah-blah - called the Health Department to request they go inspect. Wanted to share with anybody who will listen. If you go eat at Chik-Fil-A, just check your salad thoroughly for nasty green bugs before you take a bite.

They're quick, courteous and if you sit in to eat, occasionally they'll give free mints!

I can't speak to anything approaching the experience Eric had below. I can say that after visiting this location easily two dozen times over the last three years of living in downtown Silver Spring, I've always been treated in a friendly professional manner. Once I just wanted a sweet tea -- but they happened to be running a promotion, so they threw in eight chicken nuggets even though I didn't ask. Here's a free, wholly unrelated tip: pay your parking meter.
