My boyfriend and I went to Beretta for a date night on Saturday, and we had a great time. Ambiance: Small-ish space with intimate tables, so perfect for a Saturday night. You will be sitting close to your neighbors, so probably not the time for private conversations. Young crowd and lively atmosphere, which is also a plus. Parking: Street parking only, but parking is free after 6pm and it wasn't too difficult to find a spot. Reservations: Unfortunately Beretta doesn't take reservations. Since it was a Saturday night, I was worried about the wait, but we arrived on the early side and got lucky-- only about a 45 minute wait for a table. I found out when I put my name in that Beretta does allow you to call ahead. This is nice considering they don't take reservations, but I would have appreciated it if the hostess had told us this when we called to make the original reservation. Food: I ordered a margherita pizza and my boyfriend ordered the prosciutto. He loved the prosciutto (he was an especially big fan of the crust). I liked the margherita, and after seeing the margherita burrata pizza at the table next to us, I was glad I decided to order the original. It was a solid margherita pizza, but not the best I've had in the Bay Area (I thought Pizzaiolo in Oakland was better). I thought that the herbs could have been dispersed better throughout the pizza, instead of getting a big clump of rosemary in one bite and then nothing the next bite. Service: Service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and the food was served quickly. We did have to ask for new plates between the appetizer and main course, which I thought should have been automatic but is a small detail. Overall, Beretta is a solid Italian/pizza spot int he city with good drinks and atmosphere. Great for a date night or small group of friends.

Great place for a date. Their pies are delicious, including the one with the pear. Squid ink pasta was surprisingly good, as was the osso bucco. They also have a secret "bird" menu for drinks, so be sure to ask for the inventive menu. The salumi platter is also really tasty and generous and i would highly recommend that!

Tend to come back here ever soo often. Very good walnut bread with burrata appetizer. And the Diablo cocktail is worth it.

Pros: - all around tasty food - gelato dessert was very good - waiter was friendly Cons: - unimpressive (nothing wowed me) - forgettable (I can't even recall a highlight of my meal) - hostess was inattentive (even at 5:30pm...) Bottom line: does not live up to the hype. Other friends who have visited separately agree that Beretta gets more attention than it deserves. If you're in the area, not picky about food, and like safe choices, Beretta is for you.

Pizzas are amazing, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is great. Place is usually crowded, so you may have to wait for 5-10 minutes to be seated and 10-20 minutes to receive your food. The wait is definitely worth it, though. The restaurant, however, does not offer free WiFi.

The food, the ambiance, the service, and the drinks here are amazing. We had the mushroom pizza with the mushroom rizzuto and no complaints what so ever! The communal table makes a great place for a large party

This place was great for a date night. We had a Walnut bread with honey & burrata for an appetizer and then a sausage pizza. I loved the atmosphere here. Would come back!

Good romantic spot for a date night. Order anything and you'll be happy. The flatbreads are a go to.
