Sometimes there's a fine line between awesome and stupid

The drummer is so focused. He's acting like he's powering the vehicle.

In case you've had trouble convincing people that things should look different across browsers, hopefully this'll help...

Delivering speed and delivering a good UX is more important than visual or functional consistency.

I never thought that of all the people I grew up with, I'd be the one making a living rolling papers

So far I'm a fan of google+ and have been saying since I joined that as soon as they get enough people that it'll be a better alternative to facebook. Now I've spent some time reading/learning more about it and have figured out that it will never be a replacement for facebook and the problem is that I was trying to use if like it was facebook. It is not. They really serve two different needs. On Facebook you connect with people you already know and pretty much have mostly meaningless status updates about random things, it was nice to connect with people and find people you never thought you would see again, however it is overall a little pointless. Google+ however serves a different niche, but you have to invest a little time to realize just how fantastic it is. With google+ you decide what interests you and start following people with similar interests and all of a sudden you are completely engaged with new people to follow that all share part of the same interests and the conversation and interactions can actually be meaningful, educational and insightful. You don't have to be careful about everybody seeing what you write because they are in different circles. Meaning that if I want my close friends to know about a silly issue with my wife I can still post it, yet my boss, my kids, and my x-girlfriends mother don't all see it. And if I want to be completely engaged with some new perl modules, jquery techniques or php code that I'm into I can specifically search out that niche and follow people with those interests and again, my boss, friends, kids don't have to see all of the things that I think are relevant (but to them, would be garbage and uninteressting). With that said, I think today I'm going to go search out some people interested in jquery for mobile development, create a circle just for them and get some meaningful social interaction.
