Interesting Fact! A hip fracture is a break in the upper end of the thighbone; it causes severe pain and discomfort when attempting to move or flex the hip.

Although a blow to the hip usually causes hip fractures, they can also occur when the bone is weakened by diseases like cancer or osteoporosis.

Make sure your fun in the sun isn’t putting you at risk for skin cancer! It is important to apply sunscreen as directed and to all exposed skin, including the tops of your ears.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends everyone use sunscreen that is:
- Broad-spectrum
- SPF 30 or higher
- Water-resistant

Ever feel like you’re walking on a marble? You could be suffering from a condition called Morton’s neuroma.

A neuroma is a benign tumor of a nerve, but Morton’s neuroma is thickening of tissue around the nerve that usually occurs between the third and fourth toes. Since it is not actually a tumor, there is usually not a bump on your foot, but the symptoms include pain or numbness in the toes.

Whether you are training for a race or just running for exercise, athletic shoes play a big role in your success as a runner. A good way to learn which athletic shoe is best for you is to have a professional evaluate your foot to determine your foot type.
