After my month at Yodok Camp it was hard to come back to the dull monotony of daily meals, the distinct lack of corpses in my city and the constant irritation of being denied the experience of the 'great outdoors' due to my annoyingly insulated house. Every morning, I leaped out of my double concrete slab to eagerly drop to my knees to kiss the image of the dear leader who has a wonderful hair style. Its hard to compare this experience to any other place... Bora Bora, Thailand and Bali are average by comparison.

This is definitely the hottest and most exclusive place to be in North Korea right now. The décor may have been a little bit dated, but to me that was just vintage. The only thing I can say something bad about is the food. I mean a few rice grains a day weren't the best and being a chef myself, I could tell they weren't home-made. Would love to come here again.

This is my last refuge in a life where no one wants me around. I'd surrounded myself with the wrong people long enough that their stench permeated my very being and scared away those with whom I might've found happiness or contentment. So, here, I while away the weeks with others who stink just as badly as I do. It smells like home.

This is a camp that makes me think to the old glorious past: the communism, the deaths, the tortures, the smell of fresh blood... all like the good old times. Maybe I'm getting a bit too nostalgic. But the experience was really good, I enjoyed it. I wish I could have stayed more, though the food (as someone else pointed out) was not that good, I got better rice in Siberia. I'd give 5 stars but there has been a problem: all of my luggage was immediately taken and they still didn't give it back to me... I know I was a pound over the maximum weight but come on!

My family and I spent a month exploring Yodok. It was the best North Korean experience ive ever been to. Sleeping on the floor, eating nothing at all and getting whipped daily, we all had fun in the end! Only problem was there was no clear directions to find Yodok, so we spent 3 days trying to look for it. All in all it was wonderful and we wish we can go again.

The decor was absolutely stunning! I felt like I was truly being immersed in a true North Korean experience. My family and I loved the nature walks and landscaping lessons that were offered at all hours of the day as well as the staff. They were understanding and catered to our every needs, and when we were upset, they offered us a hot shower to calm us down. The food was to die for as well! Nothing like fried dog with a side of the freshest 3-year-old kale. I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends!
