Yesterday we launched a new #EquestrianMagazine website. There are changes still to come, but our intention was simple: Make Equestrian more accessible to anyone without an iPad. You can still read the full featured iPad app version, or desktop flipbook, but the website allows us to better share the stories we have, with more people. Reaching more people is never bad for our sport. Keeping up with trends, hopefully, we have designed www.equestrian-magazine.com responsively, so that it is mobile friendly. We hope everybody enjoys the new website, and are open to any recommendations you have about making it better.

We've got a little (but important) bit of clerical news today. It's August 1st, that means that rule GR 843, otherwise know as the "collapse rule," is now in effect. It may not (and hopefully doesn't ever) be a concern for you, but every owner, trainer, and rider should be aware of it.

The idea of #USEFConnect was rolled out during #NAJYRC, and now it's officially part of our media offering. USEFConnect is a web application that will be used as a hub of information during USEF property events (NAJYRC, Pony Finals, and Festival of Champions are three big ones that come to mind). The url usefconnect.com is now a dedicated, USEF owned property that is responsive, and optimized for use on mobile phones.

Currently, USEFConnect is set up to connect competitors (parents), spectators, and other attendees at the US Pony Finals with important and pertinent information like schedules, orders of go, events, maps and more.

Go to www.usefconnect.com to get an idea of what USEFConnect is. Bookmark it from your mobile browser to easily return and keep updated. The next competition to utilize USEFConnect will be the Dressage Festival of Champions in October.

Our social media guy (something he calls himself) Andrew is hosting this experimental contest and hoping to get some interesting (funny too) results. He'll be giving one month of aHorseBox to the winner.: http://ow.ly/nmb67
Can you mashup a Goerge Morris quote with some other pop cult line? (i.e. GM & Shrek ;) http://ow.ly/nm87x) @ahminnick might send you @aHorseBox http://ow.ly/nm8fZ

It's been a while in the making, but the USEF Rule Book iPad App is now available. Download it from the App Store, then have your USEF Member # and Password handy to start downloading individual rule book chapters.

Noelle Floyd made Simon "Horse of the Week" this week and wrote this profile of his career. It's worth a look, especially if you're not familiar with the horse.
