First up, New America's Josh King describes the Commotion mesh infrastructure. If the existing infrastructure doesn't solve your needs, do it yourself. Commotion (the NYT's "Internet in a suitcase," though Josh disclaims that naming) helps communities build decentralized -- and less censorable -- infrastructure.

If Web privacy keeps Mozilla's Sid Stamm up at night, how can average users possibly cope? (#PETS2011)

Tools like Collusion, RequestPolicy, NoScript, and Ghostery can help the expert, yet can add to the proliferation of confusing choices that "break the Web" for everyday browsing. Do we need regulatory action to un-break it?
