Day 8!

I feel as if my contrast levels are really good in this, and that the cheeks are looking great, but I'm having difficulty getting the face to look feminine and pretty. I'm not sure why though, it seems to be a bit of a mental block on my part.

Any critiques are appreciated! :)

I had a new idea for the pole vault challenge, so here are some very rough thumbnail sketches. I left the lines in because I don't have the time to make super clean thumbnails right now, sorry.

After I know which idea is best, I'll make a clean, lineless thumbnail for it.

My idea for these is that a priest is on his way to visit a temple or tree of some sort, both of which were created by gods (hence why the pillars, temples, hands, etc. are so large).

I've also included some of my inspiration photos from my mood board.

Which thumbnail/idea is the best one?

Halfway there with day 7!

I'm feeling really proud of this, so I'm so excited to see the progress I make on my way to day 14. I know that I've improved the contrast, but the eyes are still looking a slight bit off to me.

Any critiques are appreciated! :D

Here's my thumbnail process for the challenge so far! I had consulted friends and family for their opinions on which thumbnail they thought was best, and then which lighting situation, but now I'm ready for some critique!

I'm not too comfortable with color, so I kinda need some help figuring out which of the 4 color mock ups is the best, or if I should go back to a previous thumbnail design or lighting situation.

Day 6

I don't have a lot of time or energy to work on this challenge atm, so sorry for the delay in between days.

I feel as if my edgework and values have improved this day though! And the nose is looking a lot more realistic than in my previous days.

Something is still looking off though... I think that my contrast still isn't good enough.

Any critiques are appreciated.

Homework for Thursday's class! Female torsos (including breasts)

I used reference photos for all of these, which are at the top of the image. They're Greek and Roman statues, since they were the only useful images I could find while using Safe Search (I like to retain my innocence lol).

I wasn't aiming for a perfect copy between my studies and the reference pictures, I just needed them to understand the forms of the torso.

I think the best one is the one on the far left, but I'm not sure. Critiques are appreciated! :)

Day 5 of the 14 Day Challenge

I feel as if I've made some good improvement between day 4 and 5, but I still feel as if I have value and anatomy issues.

Overall it took me longer since I had to take a few days off from art to work on some writing stuff.

Day 4

I've been sick off and on this week, so my brain was slow and foggy while working on this. As such, I'm worried I may have reintroduced some past mistakes while working on it.

Anyways, I tried to make the lips darker and improve the anatomy of the eyes, nose, and brow bone. Any critique is appreciated! :)

I was wondering if anyone has any exercises/stretches that they would recommend doing to prevent injury and strain while working on art?

I'm only in my mid teens, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, so I've been trying to find ways to prevent permanent damage in my hands, wrists, arms, and back when I'm older.

Day 3! I feel like the anatomy of the nose and eyes have improved a lot since day 2, but I still feel as if the eye socket is off.

Any critiques are appreciated! :)
