Keep sharing the screenshots!

First screenshot of #Ubuntu running on +Qt 5.5 alpha. Basic functionality ok! Lots of bugs to be fixed in the coming months though...

It would be nice to be able to use Qt Controls in Ubuntu Touch apps.

Tab and Tab conflict, for example, where dynamic tab creation in Qt Controls works and Ubuntu Touch does not.

Is there a way to specify which module to load from with QML? Eg:

import QtQuick.Controls 1.0 as QQC
import Ubuntu.Components 0.1 as UComp

QQC.Tab {
}

UComp.Tab {
}

Excuse the off-topic, but it made me wonder!

Here we go. #QtIFW  2.0

We (finally) tagged the Installer Framework 2.0.0. It's a big improvement over the 1.x series, so if you're using the IFW, please upgrade :)

#QtCreator  is just a Qt application, so why not? Use your target device to develop!

Who needs an extra computer to develop +Qt application now? :-)

You can do it directly with Qt creator on your +Freescale i.MX6 emCON Devkit !

Why not? Because my app is painfully slow to build on a pretty darn capable desktop. :P

Nice to know if you are dealing with D-Bus in +Qt.
Something I did not find documented anywhere: a sensible way to generate QtDBus adaptor and interface classes from introspection data with qdbusxml2cpp. I only found hacks using system() and custom targets to accomplish the feat. I though to myself that there must be a saner, better way, ...

Some Lesser Known #QtTools and Commands - Part 1

Every #Qt developer should be familiar with the common tools like #qmake, Qt Designer and Assistant, but looking in your Qt installation's bin directory will reveal a few more programs there. In this and future blogs, we'll look at some of the lesser known Qt development tools.

First, let's review a list of the tools for which you should be familiar. A few, like moc, rcc, and uic may be less familiar to you if you primarily let qmake or your IDE take care of building software, but the tools shown in the table below are ones that most Qt developers use on a regular basis.

One big push again done - #ubuntuphone development images will use +Qt Project's Qt 5.4 from the next image onward, while the new +BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition owners are currently on Qt 5.3 and will benefit from this later on.
