Most people don't realize this, but your air conditioner doesn't cool the air in your home. Instead, it removes heat from the indoor air and transfers the heat to outdoor air.

Mini-Split air conditioners are small and easy to install, but they make a big difference in that one room that's not as comfortable as the rest. http://pub.vitrue.com/6VIG

It's the most efficient A/C you can buy, it's ENERGY STAR®– qualified, and it's 50% quieter than a standard air conditioner. It's the Lennox® XC25!

It's a myth that blocking air vents in less-used areas of your house can save energy and money. Make sure all your vents are open and uncovered so your system keeps you comfortable efficiently, like it's meant to.

Rude rude rude! Had an issue with some recent work that was done in my condo, and I was treated like shit! Receptionist named Vickie just hangs up on people here with 0 authority to do so. I asked to speak to a manager and was hung up on again! Take your business elsewhere and save yourself the headache! Dishonest, unprofessional and a nightmare to deal with.

Our Brennan service tech, Adam, diagnosed a consistent problem with our gas furnace. Being on Bainbridge, we do not have natural gas service, we use propane. The original installer failed to convert one of our two gas furnaces from natural gas to propane. In the two years we've lived here we've had the original installer out twice to fix the furnace because it kept losing its pilot. Their visits were expensive, at $300 each, and totally ineffective. Adam diagnosed the problem, recommended that a propane conversion be installed, and quickly installed the required parts once they were available. We now have a gas furnace properly configured for propane that heats our living room.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) recommended Brennan Heating, so although they were slightly more expensive than the two other bids we got, we went with Brennan to be safe. Unfortunately the experience was awful. The installers didn't use ground cloth so our basement floors and walls were filthy (installed in January), the existing oil furnace was to be resold, which we told the installer, but still the electrical chords and casing were cut so we couldn't re-sell. The oil gas lines were not cut back so they are still free hanging from the ceiling. The installer (kid) fell off the roof (no safety measures were used), but still wanted to finish the job (we were worried about his condition/clear head). Lastly we told the estimator we wanted a split for a gas stove in the future, but the kid said he wasn't told that so we would have to re-dig up our pipeline and have new permits when we install a gas stove in the future. All in all, in every way, we were very disappointed with the professionalism (lack of) and quality of the installation. We submitted this complaint with Brennan, who would not take responsibility for any of their actions, and to the Better Business Bureau and PSE – hopefully PSE will take them off their recommendation list at the very least.

We just had a heat pump installed by Brennan. We found them through Costco. They came to our home for an evaluation of our needs and gave us a very fair price. They showed up on the day of install on time and ready to work. The crew are all employed by Brennan. They do not sub out any of their work. So, they all work well together. They completed the job very quickly and professionally. They were very neat and tidy. If they had to enter the home they always took their shoes off. They were very polite and respectful. We even have a cat that can not go outside and they were very aware of not letting her out. We were very impressed with there friendly attitude and the finished product.

Well, it's three years after the installation of a brand new super-high efficiency gas furnace and Rinnai tankless water heater, and none of the promises of increased efficiency we were assured of have come to fruition. The tankless has caused nothing but headaches and the furnace runs continuously -- much more frequently than the "less-efficient" 25-year-old unit Brennan removed ever ran. Our utililty bills have actually increased slightly, and we're using even more therms than before even though our energy use habits (such as thermostat settings) have remained consistent. Brennan couldn't have cared less about my dissatisfaction -- basically told me to get lost, as a matter of fact. Unfortunately I paid the first 50% installment via a credit card, and they went ahead and charged the remaining 50% to my card without my consent BEFORE EVEN COMPLETING THE WORK (since I had given them my card information), so I had little recourse. I'll never make that mistake again. I recommend paying by check if you are foolhardy enough to trust these clowns to your heating and cooling needs -- at least that way you'll have some method of obtaining a measure of satisfaction I was never able to receive. As a side note, make sure that whoever sells you new equipment is knowledgable about the products they are hawking. We dealt with a salesperson who knew little about possible consequences of installing a tankless in existing construction. I think the tankless units are great in new construction, but caveat emptor in existing homes -- we've run into serious issues the sales staff never mentioned. When the issues cropped up, what was Brennan's reaction? "Buzz off -- not our problem."
