One of my favorite spots in the East Village and for Mexican in Manhattan! Mayahuel is not cheap, but the variety of the cocktails and the food menu is appreciated and well executed. There are so many good starters or shared plates on the menu, I always overorder. The popcorn is well seasoned, the salsas and guacamole is very good, The enchiladas, tacos, and salads are all yummy. Try one of the mezcal or fruit cocktails from the mixologist while you wait for a table. Really delicious! Although it's cramped upstairs, it's still a good place for a group if you can swing a booth. Can't wait to go back!

Great place to drink and chat, but beware of the beercocktails, they might get you reeeally drunk.

There are a bunch of things that make this place great. First things first though obviously. There is a 10 yes that's right 10 page drink menu. Everything from mezcal to micheladas even absinthe and rose, you'll be able to imbibe in this establishment. Drinks average about $12-14 and the more concentrated concoctions are served in smaller, daintier glasses. The food menu albeit smaller is equally as impressive. The first time I came here was on my birthday, so we were able to try several different dishes. **Pork Belly Cochinita** People, listen to the yelpers. This dish is LEGIT **Queso Fundito with Chorizo** Omg, self explanatory but I could bury my face in it **Guac/Salsas** Standard tells of a good Mexican restaurant and Mayahuel delivers **Ceviche** Light and fresh tasting **Fish Tacos** Fresh and delicious, always always order these **Flautas** Can do no wrong ever. Obviously awesome here **Chimichurri Steak** Great cuts of beef with a variety of veggies on that plate Did not have the Paella but boy the description is drool inducing. THEY HAVE CHURROS too!!! Obviously those went straight to the dome. I will make this a standard repeat. Can't forget the ambiance. Dark with candles and dark wood. Great place to take someone for cocktails. And dinner. YUM. Wish they delivered. To Chelsea. And Brooklyn. LOL
