Mallory Brooke joined the WMTW News 8 First Warning Weather Team in August 2011.
A New Jersey native, she’s been interested in weather as long as she can remember. Research projects always included tornadoes and blizzards, and she constantly tuned into The Weather Channel as a kid. Her favorite memory goes back to the Blizzard of 1996, when she was up through all hours of the night taking hourly snow measurements- at age 9.
Prior to WMTW, Mallory worked at WHSV in Harrisonburg, VA as the Executive Weather Producer and Morning Meteorologist for the award winning Daybreak morning show. However, her love of winter weather (and lack thereof in the Shenandoah Valley) brought her north to New England. You’ll probably catch her running or hiking in the warmer months and on the ski slopes during the winter.
Mallory graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in May 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology and obtained the 449th CBM seal from the American Meteorological Society in September 2010. Now an avid college football fan, you’ll find her glued to the TV during fall Saturdays as she cheers on her Nittany Lions.
