Two excellent stories to share with kids on Columbus Day: Follow the Dream by Peter Sis and Encounter by Jane Yolen.
The first story is told from the point of view of Columbus and shares what motivated him to explore. The second is told from the point of view of the native Taino people who inhabited the island where Columbus first landed.
