Is your business ready for Semantic Search?
+Stephan Hovnanian 's latest blog post reviews +David Amerland 's excellent book, Google Semantic Search, and offers seven key takeaways for building an online footprint that's maximized for semantic success...

1. If you have years of experience in your field (personally or as a company) you are at a distinct advantage for positioning yourself in search results going forward.

2. The entire company (and everyone creating content for it) must have a firm grasp of the messaging and content being created both online and offline.

3. You need to have a team of experienced professionals who can provide all the forms of content marketing (audio, video, graphics, and text).

Everyday scene in the fertile land along the Nile. Sugarcane harvest in Egypt ... on the way to Birket Habu! West Bank of Luxor, Upper Egypt

Sugarcane industry in Egypt is one of the oldest in Egypt. Cane plantations are concentrated in the area of Upper Egypt specifically in Menia, Sohag, Qena, Luxor and Aswan.

Sugarcane harvest: Farmers begin the sugarcane harvest season in Luxor in December / January. The harvest process includes a lot of manual labour- cutting the sugarcane, burning the fields, and loading them on the train (or tractor) to be sent to the factory. It is a long season lasting almost 4 months. Most of the farms are still small family owned allotments from Gamal Abdel Nasser's land reforms.

Birket Habu: Birket, in Arabic, means ‘lake’, and this was part of a T-shaped harbour, connected to the River Nile by a canal. The excavation of the harbour left huge earthworks. These high mounds are populated by a few small villages.

For the most part, the area away from the Nile is desert. Along the Nile is a fertile strip of land on both sides of the Nile. The soil there is deposited by the Nile during the annual flood. Without this, there would be no fertile land there at all.

Luxor was the ancient city of Thebes, the great capital of Egypt during the New Kingdom, and the glorious city of the god Amon-Ra.
