Thanks, +Wil Wheaton, this is the start of the very first game of Gloom with the kids. Played again since this was taken. Everyone loved it. Thanks for the quality family time.

I've had my fair share of issues with Telstra but I have to give them kudos for my last dealings with them. I came in at a busy period due to some obvious staffing issues over New Years. I couldn't be helped at the time so someone took my number and I was called after close to organise a time to talk to the tech bar. The girl that rang, Kathy from memory, was cheerful and helpful even though it was pretty obvious it had been a trying day. Glenn, the staff member at the tech bar, had done his research before I arrived and was well on the way to sorting my issue when I got there. He was cheerful and very helpful and even with a few technical issues he was on to it and was eager to make sure I had a great experience. With service like that they may be able to turn the view of Telstra around.

Went with four friends at open for breakfast before work. We were pretty clearly the first there but the waitress went to the person she knew first. After way too long chatting with them she finally came over take our orders. The food took a long time to arrive and was very staggered. To top it off two orders were completely incorrect. We won't be returning.

Honestly, the place was a mess. Our order was incorrect and took a pretty long time to arrive. The TV was stuck on a blue screen of death. The only redeeming factor was that it was cheap food that tasted exactly how it should do.

Our time at Treasure Island was over the Christmas long weekend. The location is good; even though it is close to everything you could want on the Gold Coast it still felt like we were away from the hustle and bustle of the highway. We stayed at a powered camp site whilst relatives were at a powered caravan site so we experienced two ends of the grounds. Our camp site was decent sized and the ground was quite compacted so whilst it was a little hard to get tent pegs in we didn't have a problem with the massive storm. The caravan sites were a little smaller than elsewhere both in size for the caravan and space for annexes etc. The staff were really nice, particularly in the restaurant/shop area. The food was pretty decently priced (the wedges were awesome) so we ate there more than I thought we would. There were camp kitchens that seemed very popular and well equipped but as we had the caravan we had no need to use them. The toilets and showers were generally in good condition but they could do with being cleaned, or at least checked for cleaning, a couple more times a day. The pools were frequently used and saw plenty of action in the time we were there but they also had a water play area that kids of all ages loved. There were a couple of spas that I enjoy once and then googled why you can't put your face under water. I'm never going in a spa again. We only really have two complaints. The bins in the park clearly couldn't handle the Christmas rush which left us nowhere to put our rubbish for almost two days. Secondly we were very firmly told when we booked that no spaces could be reserved and that our tents couldn't be next to a caravan yet during our stay both those rules were clearly violated. Our spots were at opposite ends of the park which was a really annoying first world problem. Overall though it was good weekend and we will most likely go again in the coming years.

Aratula is the half way point for our family to catch up and we are annoyed it took us so long to figure out just how good the BP is. Their food is fantastic value with well cooked large servings. It's a servo so the ambience isn't high class but the staff are friendly and the eating area is pretty quiet. The only way they could improve is by having some shade from the afternoon sun.

I've used this post office semi regularly for work and for personal. Whilst there is generally a line the staff are proactive at helping and are generally cheerful.

A couple of friends and I recently stayed at the Wyndham for four nights and whilst we didn't spend a lot of time there, the time we did was very enjoyable. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and put up with some odd requests from us very well. The apartment was well laid out and suitably fitted with decent white goods, cutlery, bedding and TVs. We made use of the awesome rooftop pool that also had a bbq that next time we will be sure to make use of. The free gym was great as well. Given we didn't really spend too much time there though it would have been nice to have free WiFi but that seems to be the case in most places. We will definitely stay again.
