OBASHI
So many of you are probably familiar with the value of RACI diagrams and probably seldom mentioned in your ITIL training. Today I came across another valuable tool for our arsenal called OBASHI diagrams. Below is a video which gives some good ways in which it aligns with ITIL. If you get a few moments, take a break and watch the video and look at the diagram on the Wikipedia link.

Although we have definitely tried to address the various OBASHI layers by looking at our services, in the future it probably is beneficial for us to structure our thoughts using this, to ensure we are looking at all of the aspects not missing anything. It is much like how we used to informally think about responsibilities and now more formally do so using RACI diagrams. This is probably another good step in evolving our maturity as an IT organization.

Comments, suggestions, critical feedback are all welcome. What do you think?
