5 star restaurant in Portland. Brilliant chef and excellent staff. Caroline, our server was gracious and knowledgeable. Every course delicious, the charcuterie board the best I have ever tasted. The cocktails were superb Best restaurant in Portland

Cool design of the place, both overall and in the details. Service was terrific, as was their speed. The beers on tap were good, I had a local IPA. Food was great and filling, well plated.

The only one star review I have ever written, and I would give less if possible. We had two folks with food limitations. One asked for salad without dressing. could not be done. Was done after a fuss. The other asked for a sub for broccoli. They stood their ground: "Chef's vision" was my favorite quote. portion control was the other. They have portions only to match the entre' it goes with. I still am incredulous, and it has been awhile. On the upside, it's a beautiful room, and thoughtful preparations. But the least flexible, most uptight response I have encountered from any business of any type. Never again. I did not ask for comp, and they sure did not offer it.

To be honest when I looked up the menu I was lost in the different kinds of food that I have not really heard of but after eating there the server was great at explaining the menu. We all had a great time and loved every bit of food we had including the cornbread. This is a place that I will come to again

I booked a reservation for Irving Street Kitchen for our first night in Portland on May 25th. I specified a private booth on the reservation request and we received it. It was perfect! The server (I'm sorry I wish I could remember his name) was incredibly articulate regarding the dishes and while also training someone. We enjoyed some wines, an appetizer (one with octopus and squid ink- AMAZING) which the server was kind enough to split ahead of time in the kitchen, two delicious dinners, and then... we couldn't resist... Bee local honey cake with fresh strawberry sauce alongside foie gras ice cream with a basil infused syrup! This was all one dessert and a mind-blowing, impressive mix of sweet and savory. If it's still there when you go, and you're a foodie- it's a must have! We would 100% return to this restaurant when we go to Portland again. Enjoy!

The food will take a little while to get to you, but it is very much worth it. The foie gras ice cream and honey cake was delectable.

Great vibe. Great food. Fresh, creative farm to table dishes that are fun to share and ooh and ah over.
