I can't believe this restaurant has been open for 14 years, and today was my first visit! The food is so savory and flavorful, it requires your entire attention to enjoy. I literally stopped talking to my friend for a good half hour and just reveled in each bite. The food at Indika is Indian with a modern twist...but, it isn't fusion. The food leans strongly towards its Indian influence and is loaded with spice. What I love though, for beginners, is the brunch. For $20pp, there is an unlimited feast of about 20 items or so. This is a great opportunity to try everything, figure out what you don't like, and order tons of what you do like. Another great thing about the brunch is that it's buffet style without a buffet line. Rather than the food just sitting out on a cold line, the servers bring food out to the tables as it is prepared in the kitchen. From the brunch menu, my favorite items include the Chicken Samosas, the Spinach Potato Cake Chaat, the Pulled Pork & Fried Egg, the Fish Kofta Curry, the Coconut Pancakes, and ALL of the desserts. If you don't think those few items will fill you up, you're crazy! PLUS, the menu has a lot more. I'm definitely adding Indika to my permanent brunch list!

They have a very interested cocktail list and I was torn between the Karma Sutra and the Madras Mojito. I decided on the mojito and it was delicious. Made with a guava purée the presentation was not very pleasing, but once you give it a stir all is good. We were served warm naan and lentils while we perused the HRW menu. I decided on the fried okra salad. Wonderfully spicy and fried perfectly! Next up was the Chicken Biryani. Very spicy rice with crunchy pumpkin seeds, chicken chunks, and a hard boiled egg. For dessert, I chose the Chocolate Ginger Tart. Rich and delicious. It has a nice crunchy crust that reminded me of a Heath bar and it was served with a coffee whipped cream that I could eat by the bucket! A few tips: Parking is valet only, but it is complimentary. Also, as of this review the mango mousse DID NOT come with a Grand Marnier cake, even though it was in the description.

Got there at 9:45 PM. Wanted to try it because of Texas Monthly review. Got seated and given menu's and a young lady brought us water. Then for the next 15 minutes we just sat there. Nothing! We got up to leave and a waitress comes over and asks if we've been helped. The hostess just stood there the whole time with a older Indian man? There was no service staff working the tables in the dining room and the one waitress with the big arm tattoo looked like she wanted to hit somebody. The service area by the kitchen had a number of staff standing around looking confused. The food might be good but we won't be trying it!

This was my first time here, but my friend had been there many times. She usually orders the eggplant, and it was a great disappointment this time. She had the power lunch, and everything was cold. The quail was burned, the samosa was cold, and greasy, and the eggplant was cold, not even the cheese was melted. My salad was very oily. The food seemed to have sat in the kitchen. There were only three other tables there, so maybe the chef was off that day. Too bad. I won't go again.

The chicken biryani was surprisingly delicious. I recommend this place for its ambience, service and innovative approach to Indian food!

Fantastic service, interesting food, loved the atmosphere. The waitress was great, very knowledgeable and friendly, while at the same time knowing when we were too involved in conversation to really be paying too much attention. A group of 7 and i went for my birthday, and it was the best decision i had made all weekend.

I'll give the food 4/5 - Kashmiri Biryani was excellent, tasted a bit of a lot of dishes was good too. I'll give the service/ waiting staff 1/5 - The attitude of the waiter didn't seem too good at the start itself, almost as if our presence was an inconvenience to him. Waiter seemed to be hurrying us up while we were ordering, then took a long time to get our food in. All entrees were served and we had to wait 5 minutes for naan to come in. Naan apparently came complimentary with the entrees, our party of 7 received 1 naan sliced into 4 pieces. We expected to be served more naan, but nothing more came. 5 minutes into eating, I specifically requested the female waitress for extra naan for the table and she took the serving plate to bring more. We saw naan come out for other tables, but none for ours. Disappointed with waiting so long, we ate what was on our plate and left. Most restaurants struggle with making good food, unfortunately, Indika seems to have another problem. An excellent chef, but unprofessional and cold serving staff with a poor attitude.

I could go on forever about how much my family and I loved Indika, but I promise to keep it short(ish). My parents were visiting from out of town and we absolutely love Indian food. As soon as we pull up there is a valet attendant ready to open the door. Once we walked inside we were greeted and seated quickly. Indika is warm and inviting with beautiful drapery and low lighting. Our waiter was polite, made suggestions, and offered us alternatives to the dishes. He brought out complimentary potato pancakes with a delicious spread. The menu is inventive and adds their own flare to traditional Indian food. Our dishes came out promptly. All of our meals were so incredibly flavorful and fresh I was ready to order and second meal to go! Prices were reasonable considering it's fresh fish, lamb, duck, etc. We were so pleased with the main course, we decided to order dessert and coffee. I had a lot of questions and our waiter was happy and eager to answer. They even gave us complimentary cardamom cookies. It's the simple touches that truly make a restaurant special. (Just look on the wall, you'll see all their awards). I advise anyone with an adventurous palette to try Indika!
