This is what happens when local codes are not enforced, either through lack of understanding or lack of caring. I'm sure if anyone in the Town of Surfside had to live next door to this mess, they would take some action.  I heard that this property was finally condemned, yet the tenants are still there and the place has become an illegal dump. It's beside a daycare and a wetland, and it's full of feral cats.  I've been looking at it for 15 years. This is dereliction of duty in my book. Thoughts anyone?

The dream of every family is to be able to live together happily in a quiet and peaceful home where parents will have the opportunity of bringing up the children in the best possible way, or guiding and helping them in choosing careers and of giving them the love and care which will develop in them a feeling of security and self-confidence." ~ Nelson Mandela from a letter to Zindzi & Zenani Mandela, written on Robben Island, 1 June 1970
