It happened: an article with the sentence "good old web-search". Although I am not sure what is old or good about it.
Quoc Le wants to create technologies that can take entire sentences, whole paragraphs, and other types of natural language and turn them into numbers---or vectors, the mathematical constructs that computer scientists use to translate the things we see and hear into information that machines can grasp. He’s even exploring how machines can understand things like opinions and emotions.

The Economist printed edition features an article about the "lessons learnt from Argentina’s 100 years of decline". My Argentinian friend are going to celebrate or rage over this article spiced with Madonna's lyric. The article is quite short. Here some quotes:

"The Argentines remain perhaps the best-looking people on the planet."

"its cooking is based on taking the world’s best meat and burning it" (only an English outlet would dare to categorize asado as such)

"I will take a look later. Much much later. Because I'm Ukrainian and we have revolution right now. Sorry".
People should use this as automatic reply.

Right now there was 1 second without any sound. I had the feeling human knowledge stagnated for that time.

He not only forsaw the singularity and technological unemployment, but also Spiderman:

"There is general agreement among the sages of the peoples of the past ages, that if we are granted power commensurate with our will, we are more likely to use it wrongly than to use it rightly, more likely to use it stupidly than to use it intelligently."
“The Machine Age,” an essay written for The New York Times by Norbert Wiener, a visionary mathematician, languished for six decades in the M.I.T. archives, and now excerpts are being published.

Fun read: I am not sure if the sarcasm is the author's or the topic's fault.

"Wow, there’s a lot of life I’m sacrificing to live in this country.” At the time, Argentina’s wet noodle of an economy was foundering. Every day, California Burrito had to readjust prices to keep up with inflation. The conveniences his friends at home took for granted were a far-off dream. “iPhones were like $2,000. We were paying ourselves like $1,200 a month. And I realized that I was missing out on the great luxuries of the American lifestyle.”

[...]

In Silicon Valley, where The Work of creating The Future is sacrosanct, the suggestion that there might be something not entirely normal about this—that it might be a little weird that investors are sinking millions of dollars into a laundry company they had been introduced to over email that doesn’t even do laundry; that maybe you don’t really need engineers to do what is essentially a minor household chore—would be taken as blasphemy. Outside mecca, though, there are still moments of lucidity.

"The whole wealth so swiftly gathered in the paper values of previous years vanished. The prosperity of millions of American homes had grown upon a gigantic structure of inflated redit, not suddenly proved phantom. Apart from the nation-wide speculation in shares which even the most famous banks had encouraged by easy loans, a vast system of purchase by instalment of houses, furniture, cars and numberless kinds of household conveniences and indulgences had grown up. All no fell together."
-- Churchill on the 1929 economic crisis

This months' edition of National Geographic is the first ever (as far as I recall) to display a picture taken with a smartphone.
It is a great one of course.

wishlist: a service where I can ask  "where is <famous person>?" and gives me the last publicly (newspapers, social media) reported location of this person.

20 hours later I realized that today was April 1st. After regretting all the pranks I didn't do, the next idea I had was to run to see what google did this year.
I did not get disappointed
