The bagels and the fish are really good actually. Mr. Grouchy handles all the customer service. Half the customers come away a little miffed. Nothing like a dose of condescension with your morning breakfast. Despite my love for the food I've stopped going there. There's not a shortage of bagel shops with equally good fair.

One of the best bagels in New York - they were voted in the Top 10, so it's not only my humble opinion - in one of the nicest neighbourhoods in Brooklyn. My choice is toasted Asiago with cream cheese, tomato and avocado. You are welcome. :)

Came in for the massive cinnamon roll. Will come back for the impromptu banana bread pudding muffin we bought as an impulse second selection (so good!) and to try one of their many various bagel options. No fancy coffee drinks here - they keep it simple.

A dimly lit, cute little store with artisan and regular bagels. We got the poppy seed, cinnamon raisin, onion, everything and garlic bagels. Get the baker's dozen and save some for the next day.

The bagels here are mediocre at best. To me, they taste like they've been just baked and not boiled. At least they're better than the grumpy customer service.

I popped into Beygl around noon one afternoon and was overwhelmed by the many choices they offer despite their pretty small location! All the bagels are kettle-boiled so I had to order a poppy seed bagel to go. It kept until the next day when I enjoyed it, still chewy and delicious. Don't let the name fool you, they serve way more than just bagels and the accompaniments; lunch sandwiches, a kids' menu with chicken fingers and other baked goodies. I'm pretty sure you could eat here every meal for a month and never have the same thing, so of course I'll return. :)

The best bagels in the neighborhood - they have the classics, but also some great 'artisanal' varieties. The staff is incredibly friendly and great. On top of that, their sandwiches are as good as any great deli (go for the corned beef if you like reubens). I recommend this place to everyone in the neighborhood.
