I have a membership and attended about five talks on california drought, China & india, nuclear threat today etc.. They host good speakers but I wish the discussions have more depth and not so superficial but may be that's the format, they probably want their guests to feel relaxed.

I used to attend Commonwealth Club lectures back in the 70's and 80's. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Wish I could have heard Paul Krugman speak recently!

If these broadcasts were required in high school and college curricula [or replaced any reality TV show in the affection of know-nothing adults] we'd have a much better-informed electorate. Truly galvanizing!
