With every new edition of MacOS, there are the star-billed features that get their name about the title (like fullscreen apps, Mission Control, and Versioning) and then there are the equally-fab supporting characters.
Lion has a new Automator action that makes it dead-simply to turn any website into a floating app. And it's a real app: you can put it in the Launchpad, give it away to people, the works. Details on my site.
It's yet another example of why Automator is one of Mac OS's true standout, all-star features. I can't tell you how many times friends have come to me looking for a solution to a problem, expecting me to recommend a commercial utility, and come away with a napkin sketch of a three-step Automator workflow that does everything they wanted and can be assembled in less than five minutes.
