Ohio Rep. Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) and Rep. Armond Budish (D-Beachwood) is co-sponsoring legislation that would give income tax credits to students who earn STEM degrees “and who stay in Ohio at least five years upon graduation.” Students earning associate degrees would be eligible for a $5,000 tax credit. Students earning bachelor’s degrees would be receive a $20,000 credit. Students earning master’s degrees or doctorates would get a $30,000 credit.
