Indianapolis has quickly become a hidden secret in the digital marketing and tech community. With heavy hitters like Salesforce, Angie’s List, and ConstantContact calling Indianapolis home, it’s no wonder. We have a strong, deeply connected community of professionals who are disrupting the status quo and pushing the envelope on what’s possible. Economically, it’s a smart choice. The cost of living is more affordable and the cost to lease office space in a premium downtown location is more accessible. But what do you do when your business is certainly no longer a start-up and has out-grown its humble beginnings? You expand into a larger space, of course.

But what if you can’t expand in your current space? Do you split the team up into a secondary, albeit close, location or round up the troops and move everyone to a new property altogether?

Local advertising agency Bradley and Montgomery (BaM), has tried it both ways, and they ultimately preferred the latter.

Let's face it: we now live in a millennial-driven workforce. The demand for modern, creative, and appealing office space creates a massive opportunity for sharp business owners who are clever enough to retain and attract top talent. It can be a real challenge for the owners of aging, old-school office sites and work environments.

Where do you stand? Are your employees happily engaged in their work and energized by their surroundings or are you a cube farm with minimal amenities and low collaboration in an uninviting space?

Maybe your sole focus is on growing the business by investing in marketing, sales, and product development and consider anything else to be a waste or a luxury. Maybe you think the aesthetics of an office space have no connection to the productivity of your employees. Maybe it's time to change your mindset.
