General Tso’s Chicken
So easy to make at home!

General Tso’s chicken, is, apparently, one of the most popular Chinese takeout dishes in the US, consistently making the number one spot in many polls and reports, like this one done by NBC News. It is a delicious combination of lightly battered chicken in a sweet and tangy sauce laced with chilli. Click on the image below for the recipe.

Chinese Beef in Orange Sauce
Takes less than 30 minutes!

Perfect for Chinese New Year. I love making this Chinese Beef in Orange Sauce because it satisfies all of one’s cravings – its orange flavoured sauce is rich, a little sweet, sour and salty, epitomising, in my opinion, Sichuan cuisine. On top of that, the orange peel adds just a hint of bitterness, the merest of suggestions, to add yet another layer of flavour to the dish.

Maqluba, Palestinian Upside Down Rice Recipe

Maqluba means “upside down”, looking at the picture, that makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? It’s a delicious, comforting Palestinian rice dish, a one pot treasure that knows as many variations as there are cooks making it.

Chicken or meat; cauliflower or eggplant; tomatoes or no tomatoes, there many combinations to this, even before you start thinking outside the “traditional” box.

Beef Ragù Shakshuka

The traditional Shakshuka is a semi hearty, yet remarkably light, breakfast dish of eggs poached in a thick tomato based sauce. It hails from North Africa, but has long been an extremely popular dish all around the Middle East.

In today’s recipe, Beef Ragù Shakshuka, I’ve given a meaty, Italian twist to the old vegetarian favourite. Click on the image below for the recipe.
