Per Auto-Graphics, they believe the problem has been resolved. You should be able to view and log in to WISCAT without a problem, but you may need to close your browser and/or clear your cookies/cache if it doesn’t work at first.

If you continue to experience issues, please let me know.
WISCAT is currently down. The WISCAT platform vendor, Auto-Graphics, is working on the issue and hopes to have it fixed shortly. I will send out an update once WISCAT is back up and running.

For our upcoming WISCAT User Group Meeting, taking place via webinar on Thursday, July 26 from 2pm-3pm, we’d like to try something a little different.

*We’re looking for a few folks from WISCAT libraries who are willing to talk for around 5 minutes about something interesting that they are doing with WISCAT. *This won’t be a formal presentation, but it may be helpful to make slides or share your screen to supplement your story.

Do you have WISCAT/ILL workflows that you use locally that you think would be helpful to others? Are you doing something interesting with your WISCAT stats? Are you holding trainings locally for patrons, and you’d like to share out how that’s going? Consider sharing your story or tips at the next User Group Meeting!

Please email me at gail.murray@dpi.wi.gov if you’re interested in sharing, and we’ll get you on the agenda! If this meeting isn’t a good option (I know summer can be tough!) we can try for the next meeting.

Three bits of news for you all today:

• We have a new Z39.50 target! Hawkins Area Library (XB15) should now be displaying among your search resources. Hawkins Area Library is part of the Indianhead Federated Library System and their lending is brokered by the Indianhead clearinghouse at GHIA.
• There’s a new blog post up on the Wisconsin Libraries for Everyone blog describing how to customize your Quick Menu in WISCAT. Check it out if you’ve been curious how to add more shortcuts to your WISCAT account: https://dpi.wi.gov/wilibrariesforeveryone/makethe-most-wiscats-quick-menu-feature
• Please see this post for a BadgerLink procurement update: https://badgerlink.dpi.wi.gov/bulletin/2018/06/badgerlink-procurement-update-6282018

This change is now live for all WISCAT libraries! For those borrowing libraries who had previously been indicating “NO OS” in borrower’s notes, please instead use the “Try out of state?” option in your request forms, and note that you can change your default selection at any time in your Participant Record, in the Customer Field 6 option.
WISCAT libraries: Do you regularly request items that you do NOT want to receive from out-of-state lenders? Please read the following and make changes to your participant record by Friday!

Update: This change is currently being pushed out incrementally by Auto-Graphics – for those who do NOT want their requests to go to out-of-state lenders, please continue to indicate “NO OS” in your borrower’s notes until further notice. I’ll be sure to report out once A-G has pushed the option out for all libraries.

Thanks to those who joined in for last week's User Group meeting! Discussion included the Inter-System Sharing Initiative and statistics. Please find links to resources below, as well as in the Documentation tab when logged in to your staff WISCAT account.

The Inter-State Sharing Initiative, or ISSI, allows for resource sharing between different implementations of Auto-Graphics’ SHAREit platform, which WISCAT is based on. ISSI members include libraries in Wisconsin and Kansas, as well as non-returnable (copy) lending from Alberta, Canada. Please see the document above for more details. If your library is interested in joining ISSI, please contact the WISCAT team at dpirllill@dpi.wi.gov.

We also discussed statistics at length. A recent descriptive article on the Activities and Request Reports options can be found at this link: https://dpi.wi.gov/wilibrariesforeveryone/learn-more-about-your-librarys-wiscat-usage-activity-request-reports, with additional demo slides in the User Group Meeting slides above. I am working on creating a list of category/field definitions for statistics reports, and I will be sure to share that documentation out widely once compiled.
