There are few places in the world like Fairytale Town, a nonprofit children’s park located in Sacramento’s Land Park. Favorite fairytales and nursery rhymes are the backdrop for more than 25 colorful play sets, all designed to inspire creativity and build literacy in young children. The park is also home to a family of 22 rare and miniature breed animals, three interactive learning gardens and two performing arts stages. There is so much to discover—most of it is in the adventureland of your child’s own mind—and many magical memories to create!

Our 18m old daughter loved it. Some of the slides were more suitable for 3 year olds, but there was more than enough to do for young toddlers. Don't miss the hot chocolate with marshmallows.

My 19 month old loves this place. We could spend all day here. And you can't beat the price!

I love fairytale town. It is so full of joy and classic Fairytales. The only drawback is the age restriction.

I grew up coming to this Sacramento icon. Where else can you go on the Crookedest Mile, climb through a big piece of cheese and slide down the big red shoe where the old lady lives with so many children she didn't know what to do. There is also a stage for concerts, farm animals, Sherwood Forest with play structures and tons of other activities. Mainly for the little ones, my daughter felt like she outgrew this place by third grade or so. They still have the castle where you can have birthday parties, but the moat has been sadly dry as of late. Adults cannot enter without a child which is a good thing. Chuck E Cheese doesn't have this policy, for instance. Usually you can find 2-for-1 coupons in the Entertainment Book and parking can sometimes be a challenge on the weekends since you have the trifecta of Land Park staples all in the same area: Sacramento Zoo, Funderland and Fairytale Town. Since it is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, they are always putting on tons of fundraisers. I've gone to a few and they are unique, family-friendly and so much fun! I attended the Midsummer Night's Dream event with the all-you-can-eat Crystal ice cream. I forgot how much Strawberry Cheesecake was my favorite flavor growing up. Eating a bowl of this and curving through the crookedest mile made me feel young and old at the same time.

A great place for the kids, both big and small. Clean grounds, beautiful location, courteous staff and located adjacent to the Sacramento zoo and Funderland. Accessibility is easy from i5 and 50. Only negative is parking can be a challenge, so get their early.
