I've been coming here for over 10 years and really enjoy all their deserts. The people there are always nice and the deserts are fresh. I especially enjoy the tiramisu and limoncello cakes. The cannoli are different than mikes. Also I like that it's less crowded and always consistently excellent.

true Locals favorite in Boston! everyone in line asked me how a tourist knew to come here instead of the other place that all the tourists go to. i had an inside track it was great, the deserts are out of this world!

They are great! The cannoli aren't soggy like Mike's, Modern fills as you order it so that it doesn't make the shells soft. Their cookies are also wonderful!

Cannolis! Well worth the wait on a Thursday afternoon. You guys made a bunch of Canadian kids happy after the different flavours...

The best pastry in the North End, Boston! Love Modern's ricotta pie, cannoli, red velvet cupcakes, and pistachio macaroons!

Nice place. Pretty good cannolies. Keep in mind that this is a cash-only place when visiting.

I'm sure the food must be great. I didn't get to buy the food. I was there with my three toddlers, and the line was not even long, but it wasn't moving at all! The waitress went back and forth but no one offered any help. I feel it's typical North End style--cash only, terrible service and attitude.

I tried the Napoleon and the horn. Very, very disappointing! I grew up eating both of those pastries from excellent (not grocery store bakeries) and had an idea of what they should taste like. Both of the pastries were filled with the same grocery store type creme. Why? They really shouldn't be. Napoleon should be moist and the layers should be saturated, not hard and crunchy. Don't waste your time and money.
