Not exactly the cheapest place to catch a layover bite, however, by far one of the best options. I stopped in during a 3 hour delay on my flight back to California with an empty stomach and a strong desire to distract myself from the hellish holiday travel. Nestled literally underneath the terminal, the setting fully removes you from the airport, allowing a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of travelers rushing from gate to gate. Given the day, a drink was mandatory and their full bar did not disappoint. The bartender was quick, and good for a laugh. But the food… I ordered the lobster bisque along with a heaping order of fried gator. Yes, that's right, gator. For the uninitiated, it doesn't just taste like chicken… it tastes like a better chicken. Spiced to perfection and delightedly juicy, these things won't disappoint. As for the bisque? Probably the second best I've ever had. The first being a 32 dollar "bowl" at a swanky place in Newport Beach, CA. This was not 32 bucks, and it's inside of an airport. Day made.

odd setting in the airport basement with an escalator that takes you down to a large restaurant and bar. very fresh seafood, prepared simply and quickly with some southern creativity. gives legal's a run for its money in terms of quality and experience. worth going out of your way for if you're in the american airlines terminal.
