Let's celebrate the first, second, or even third week of school by meeting up at Pappy McGregor's in PASO ROBLES this Friday, August 28th at 4 PM. No-host, informal, let's talk Google, EdTech, MinecraftEdu :-), whatever's on your mind.

Look for the SLOCUE + GEG sign attached to my laptop screen.

This looks like crazy fun. Combines elements of Minecraft, art and architecture, AND Burning Man.

I'm developing a model for teaching literacy through Minecraft that I'd like to share. I think it is the most exciting unit I have ever taught and I've outlined it in this blog post.  Bonus: It's about VIKINGS.

I love this project Moss and I am really impressed with the quality of work your students produced. Off the chart architectural reproductions!

My students generally really struggle to reflect upon and present their ideas to others, yet when we dive into a Minecraft project, a beautiful discussion and exchange of ideas naturally flows around the room and I am blissfully wrapped up in it all. You can check out a few projects I've done with my 7th graders here . . .

Finally got around to writing up my reflection and lesson for visualizing medieval Japanese poetry with Minecraft. Students had a blast and it was great fun branching across the Pacific to +James York and +Melvina Kurashige.
