The days of referrer data are numbered. Firefox is the first major browser to enable HTTPS Google search by default. I already see about 30% of the search queries as "no provided". I'm wondering how long it will take for this percentage to reach 100%...

- That's probably a step toward forcing everybody to use Google Webmaster tools, rather than protection. I don't see an issue with HTTPS per se, and they could still send the query terms into the actual redirect from HTTPS to HTTP, or through the proposed meta referrer tag [http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2012/03/upcoming-changes-in-googles-http.html] which will be in place starting in April 2012- but there's the opportunity not to do that :).Mar 22, 2012
