Here a new piece I'm working on. I finished the drawing and color comp and wanted to get some crits / comments / before I move on to the next phase.

I'm about to call this finished. I'm pretty happy with it and learned a lot doing this piece. I don't think i'll go as tight in the future. Anything popping out or needing to be fixed before I wrap this piece up.

I'm slowly coming to a close on this painting, and wanted to know if everything looks okay, Anything I need to adjust. There are some obvious items that need to be reworked and refined such as mom in background and clean up some edges here and there. Thanks again for any feedback and help along the way.

Loomis Copy w/ Yiynova - Tried out some pencil brushes. Though the likeness is off I'm just trying to get a natural feel going using brushes. Starting to get the hang of it.  There are some weird glitches w/ the Yiynova on my system but nothing that is a deal breaker. I have Yiynova set to my main monitor now, and after a reboot it reverts back to old primary and changes resolution. But this only takes 15 seconds to fix on a boot up.  Also sometimes the pen doesn't work after the boot up or after it goes to sleep. For some reason all I have to do is go into the tablet setting and change position from absolute to relative back to absolute. I don't know why this happens, but again it is a 10 second fix that maybe has to be done once a day. So far I'm very happy. I also am trying to get used to the pressure. I originally had the monitor up right, and have since put it at about a 30 degree angle facing down. This is so much easier to draw with and the pressure is easier, but still getting used to for the effects i am looking for.

Just picked up the Yiynova MVP22U V2 and am loving it. Took about an hour or so to setup, and is already 10x better than my intuous 5. Though I do miss the scroll wheel. Will give you some more updates as I have more time to play with it

Update on my Baby piece.  I still have to refine the smaller characters, and change the mom's pose a bit. The blanket and baby's hands also need some looking into, but haven't gotten there yet.  Other than that any thoughts / changes/ comments/ etc? Thanks.

This is the latest update from my piece that I was working on. Pretty proud of it so far. This is my first real illustration that I have put together after about a year of sketching and taking classes online. Still  needs lots of refinement. Crits / comments are welcome.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I decided that even though the smaller house perspective makes it more dramatic, had you not seen it smaller, it wouldn't have affected really how the image looks. So i'll sacrifice the perspective a bit, for more character readability. I agree with +Brandon Dennis comment on last post about edge of house. That was bothering me too. Here is the latest comp, I think it is good at this point, let me know what you guys think?

Hey everyone I could use your opinion on a piece I am working on. This is my idea, so please tell me if this is conveyed correctly.  I am going to call the piece "Sibling Rivalry", and it'll show a baby being carried away by balloons while his older brother (who sent the baby away) watches and waves. Meanwhile the parents see this and are in panic.

Two questions.

First, does this idea come across correctly?

Second which comp do you like better?  I like the house in the background smaller as it shows more perspective, but I feel you lose a lot of the brother, mother, father action (they become a bit too small) Do you guys feel this way as well, or do you think with the smaller comp shows this correctly?
