Whistleblower Says 34,000 Vets Still Waiting for VA Benefits

#Whistleblower Scott Davis claims that 34,000 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans have lost VA benefit eligibility due to “systematic obstacles” that delay their applications. The most common reason for delay, says Davis, is the lack of income information. However, as Davis points out, combat veterans are not required to verify income when applying for VA benefits. Davis also claims that his attempts to notify VA officials of the problem have been ignored.

SEC lag in awarding #whistleblowers  can hurt employee whistleblowers

Employees who report to the SEC run the risk of retaliation from their employers for blowing the whistle. Although the Dodd-Frank act prohibits retaliation, many employees are suffering hardships and a delay in the process of receiving an award just makes life tougher.
