So when you make a reservation at a fancy restaurant and tell them it's for your anniversary, you might expect a cute little cake at the end of the meal. That's what I was thinking when the hostess asked me if there was a special occasion for the reservation. But then again, we're talking about top chef head judge Tom Colicchio's restaurant here! Upon arrival, the hostess congratulated us. Nice, but great, she read the reservation notes. We get to our table and there's an envelope with our names on it! It was a nice hand written congratulations card. Everyone from the waiter (Lyndon) to the water filler said something nice to us. Then we open our menu and it was personalized with a happy anniversary message with our names on it. Now this was starting to get exciting. So this is what fancy restaurant service is all about. Lyndon was an amazing waiter. He was funny, informative, and really (I never say this) took care of us. When one of the cocktails we ordered turned out not as good as it sounded, he offered to pick out another one to try. It was excellent. And he thanked us for trusting his taste. We even joked about what Tom likes to drink when he's there (white wine, natch). We ordered a few appetizers and shared an entree. They offered to serve everything in testing menu style, which turned out to just mean they split everything in half for us. The good was excellent. First, an amuse bouche of a small cantaloupe ball with a thin slice of jalapeno. Interesting. The table bread was a small loaf in a cast iron pan. Next tuna and caviar crudo where the tuna actually treated like sushi quality. Then the octopus that was prepared in the oven to prevent it from being rubbery. Delicious, especially with the avocado puree (eg guacamole). Last was the wagyu beef. Tender and delicious. They don't even asked how you'd like it cooked. It was perfect. We originally planned on going elsewhere for dessert but were enjoying ourselves so much we got the coconut tart. It was velvet smooth and rich. They even gave us a complimentary piece of rainbow cake on a plate marked for the occasion. They gave us each a muffin to go (for tomorrow's breakfast) and our personalized menu in an envelope. Stunned. Let's just say they earned every penny of the tip we left. My wife already made plans to come back with her girlfriends for the next birthday.

Had an amazing experience here!! Got engaged and let them know we were running late bc of the happy event -- arrived at the restaurant to a congratulations letter on our table, followed by complimentary champagne. They didnt stop there, took the time to reprint their menu to write "congratulations" to my fiance and myself (our names on top) and offered us complimentary dessert. Food was amazing, service outstanding. highly recommend.

Don't bust your bank account you'll still get the same impeccable service and food at the Lunch Prix Fixe. It was very affordable as well as tasty.

I know the portions are listed as "appetizer size" but most restaurants appetizers are considerably more generous. They should have said "Bite sized". Why shouldn't 3 pieces of ravioli cost $24?

I was here for brunch. For its reputation I was expecting mind blowing food. It was above average but not what i would expect from this level of a restaurant . . They are punching below their weight class. Having said that, I enjoyed the quinoa-fish dish a lot. Pass on the bloody Mary - it left a lot to be desired.

One of my favorite places to go. I've had bar area, main dining room, private room, you name it. All are great. Service is great, but most importantly the food is memorable yet different every time.

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant. Great ambiance and amazing food for all occasions. It's a little bit of a walk from the subway being on 10th ave, but well worth the trip. Recommended that you get reservations ahead of time as it does get busy.

Took my Fiancee for our anniversary. They had a card waiting for us at the table, multiple staff members wish us a happy anniversary, a menu with our names on it, and a anniversary desert. It just really made the experience special. And that's without talking about the food, which has to be mentioned as it was incredible. The small plates are perfect to share and enjoy. The menu really allows for tasting a number of delicious plates.
