Funniest story I've seen all year.  I don't even care if it's true.  It also contains one of the best quotes ever, "...but the zoo's charade was exposed after visitors heard the animal bark."

Even though the gravitational fields of the larger planets would wreak havoc with us, it makes our night sky seem so boring after looking at these pics.

I am now 100% in favor of unmanned drones...
On a sunny morning, over the open fields of Baylands Park in California, an unmanned aerial vehicle was turning heads -- and it came with a cargo of carne asada.

Hmm...  the features of this router look really nice considering my kid is already using the internet in limited capacity.  I don't think my Airport Extreme does any of this.

Is there an emoticon for drooling?  I wonder if a MacMini could push two of these?

So.... if my tax dollars are paying for this NSA Utah facility, and all of my data is gonna be stored here, doesn't this become my de facto offsite backup storage solution? All I need is a way to access their servers.

Just a thought....

I think you are correct. They should provide us with an api we can use to upload/download our data.

Good recent article about how Facebook tracks even your offline activity.  While a bit lengthy, it has some great tips about how to opt-out and shield yourself from Data Brokers/Gatherers.

That's kinda weird... This store in Brevard, NC has a box of vampire killing steaks. Oh wait... these are pegs for a log cabin. That makes more sense.

This demo is a major fail for Apple, but that aside, check out this rig! I'd make room for this setup if I had to.

This is a super in-depth, but incredibly informative discussion on the NSA situation.  This is a long discussion, but one worth listening to.  It's eye opening and disturbing on a number of levels.  The relevant portion starts about 22:40.

Just learned about this chat client that offers the ability to have encrypted chats.  It has browser plugins for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and a Mac app.  Just needs an iPhone/Android app now.  Take that NSA...
Cryptocat lets you chat with privacy. Easy to use web app that encrypts your conversations. It's open source and already know how to use it.

I needed to ship a book back to Amazon. I printed the UPS shipping label that Amazon provides and took it along with the box into the store. The employee who greeted me was polite and attentive. He had no problem using the label I printed for the purposes of shipping. The reason I rated this store as Poor though is because I ran out of tape and was not able to affix the label to the box. But I figured I was going to a store that ships stuff all day long, they'll have some tape I can use, right? Oh they had tape, but the little UPS dude charged me $1 to tape my box (or I could buy my own roll of tape). C'mon, really? In this current economic environment where good customer service is critical, you're going to charge me to put tape on a box? Maybe, and thus is being very generous, maybe that would be justified if it's a very large box (car, elephant, orca, etc.), but I was shipping a small hard back book! A 12" piece of tape would have easily secured both the box and the label! I can't see myself going back in here again short of a dire emergency (hellfire and brimstone, alien invasion, zombie apocalypse, etc.)

I called this store during the week between Christmas and New Year's 2012. I was interested in trying out HTC's Droid DNA which was touted as HTC's "flagship phone" for the 2012 holidays in several reviews. I asked the associate over the phone if they had any Droid DNAs. After a brief hold he informed me that they did. I said I'd stop by later that day to check one out. When I did stop by a couple of hours later, I was quickly approached by a sales associate and I asked to see the phone. He informed me that they didn't actually have one on display. Say what now? You mean I had to be that specific on the phone? Even though this place is called "Cellular Sales" they have huge Verizon Wireless signs one the exterior of their building. It seems odd to me they wouldn't have the (Verizon only) flagship phone of a major phone manufacturer on display. Here's a general sales tip regarding small, portable electronic devices, if a potential customer comes in wanting to see one, you get one out whether you have it on display or not. It's not like I'm asking you to unbox a refrigerator. Seriously, I've seen the box. It fits in the palm of your hand. If you're out of stock that's one thing, but if you have a stack sitting in the store room get one out. I wasn't sure if I even wanted to the buy the phone when I stopped by the store, but there is always a chance my mind could change given the opportunity to hold and use one. But I can guarantee I won't buy the phone if I can't even look at it. Thanks for making sure I never step foot in this store again sales guy. Well played.

This review is for the new location in Clemmons. I visited the new location several times during December 2012. In all instances, the food was great, the staff was attentive and polite, and there is a general welcoming atmosphere. My favorite dish is their cheeseburger on a pita. This is hardly authentic, but wow is it tasty! The Chicken Souvlaki, Spanakopita, Vegetarian Platter and Gyros all received high reviews from those who were with me during my visits. My fingers are crossed this new location does well as I hope to visit here many times in the coming years.
