Get a behind-the-scenes look at #SpecialEvent planning from George Romero! #WeddingSpecialist #WeddingTrends #Blog

#Millennial’s doing it for themselves!
One of the coolest trends going around in the wedding world is what I like to call the “taking back of the wedding” by the Y Generation!
Far gone are the days of having the ask for parental approval on every little detail.

The social media….app crazed generation is forking the bill and taking control of their magical day… Tastings have turn into a party of two far gone are the awkward silent stares during food selection. Now and days I have the Bride and Groom deciding how their party will play out.

Even the quite grooms have turned into vocal Pinterest savvy visionaries! The only downside to this trend is the disappearance of my Wedding Planners. (Insert disappointed face)
But with that said it’s great to have that generational connection.. I make my biggest bond with the couple while brainstorm fun and trendy ways to make their special day the sickest one the friends and family have ever attended.

Ceremonies are taking a back seat more pressing items: “what will our grand entrance dance be” “will I need a costume change” “what will my wedding party do to pump up the crowd?” and the biggest question I get who is my DJ going to be and will have awesome lighting!?

I can only hope that this trend continues as it has sparked a new love in weddings for me!

#LoversPoint Park and Beach has been a popular boating and swimming beach since the late 1800s, when Pacific Grove was a Methodist retreat. Now #surfers, #kayakers and #scubadivers also find the protected cove and gentle waves a good launch spot for their adventures. Add a volleyball court, the adjacent 4.4-acre Lovers Point Park, a kayak rental kiosk and an on-site snack bar during the summer and you have a perfect location for families and kids.

Ideal for:
Swimming
Surfing
Kayaking
Diving
Volleyball
Standup paddleboarding
Sunbathing in protected cove
Beach games
Picnics

How to get there:
Driving: From the hotel, drive through the traffic light at Mark Thomas Drive onto Sloat; take a left onto Del Monte Avenue until you get to Lighthouse Avenue after the tunnel. It will eventually become Central Avenue. Take a right on Grand Avenue in Pacific Grove. When it meets Ocean View Boulevard, look for parking. Distance from hotel : 3.3 miles

Very peaceful, quiet, yet close to aquarium and the highway to get to other areas. We appreciated it not being in the thick of things so we could rest after a day of play. Room was clean and well appointed. Beds comfortable with great sheets. Easy parking, room service kids meals were a deal when we didn't want to eat out. Plenty of storage for our belongings, plus fridge included. Excellent customer service throughout hotel. Wish the rooms were a tad larger and there were more amenities in the room without having to request (only a couple bath towels and small soaps/shampoo's for a family of 4), but will still stay here again in the future.

I got a discounted price to stay here but I think I would go elsewhere if I visited Monterey again. It seems they listened to the complaints about no AC, as there was a portable AC in my room which provided a nice atmosphere. My biggest compliant was...no HDTV. Really Hyatt? 42 inch plasma and no friggen HD? I couldn't even watch TV because of the crappy quality of it. After a nice long day of exploring the city, coming back to your hotel at 10pm and watching some TV is great. But..couldn't do it. Anyway. 3/5 stars. The staff was nice and whatnot, but, as the other reviewers stated as well, a $22 "resort" fee is stupid. I wouldn't stay here again in Monterey.

it was too hot,no air conditioning and there was a sign saying " open sliding door to let the Monterey breezy weather cool you down", so i tried doing it but that was even worse considering the fact that the hotel is right next to freeway so it was to loud. For almost $ 300.00 a night I expected more,at least a freaking air conditioning.

First off I would like to say, the staff and the grounds are top notch! The thing that keeps this hotel from being four stars, as it was purported to be, is the fact that there is no air conditioning. No air conditioning would probably not have been a big deal had we been on a lower floor. But being as how we were on the highest floor, the third floor, it was quite warm. We left the window open all night, but as we were on the side of the hotel closest to the freeway it was quite noisy. They did however bring me a box fan when I requested a fan on the second day so they were very accommodating. And it was more comfortable. So my advise, don't stay on the freeway side of the hotel.

I've planned events here before and it's so accommodating. After having a recent extensive remodel the lobby is looking great, the food is great even for events, service is perfect, the golf course makes you really feel in the middle of beautiful Monterey. I stayed at one of their suites and these are super spacious, great beds, could improve the decor but it works for the area. Also, the Marilyn Monroe Spa is brand new and totally worth checking out.

Mediocre. It's about half as nice as the typical Hyatt and 50% more expensive. The layout is motel style too. Walls and ceilings are rice paper thin.

Not worth the money. The rooms are old and need a remodel. The walls are really thin and so you can hear your neighbors gettin it on loudly in the next room while you try to sleep.
