#Allabouttrains Some of you would have read in the news about the new Singapore Rail Academy (#SGRA), which serves as a centre dedicated to the skilling, up-skilling and re-skilling of the railway professionals, that was officially launched by Minister for Transport Mr Khaw Boon Wan last week.

With the rail network that sets to double by 2030, the industry sees a greater need to develop a stronger engineering core to support the expanding network and to deliver higher service standards.

SMRT will continue to stay committed in investing, developing and nurturing rail professionals to deepen rail engineering expertise and promote careers in the rail industry.

Brother and sister pair, Koh Teck Heng and Koh Guek Khim, derive a sense of fulfilment when commuters are thankful and appreciative of their work.

They have also proved that age is just a number! Mr Koh, a bus captain for 33 years, takes on the role of an elder brother and a mentor. Outside of work, he takes time to guide his younger sister Guek Khim, who enjoys driving a 12m-long vehicle. He constantly looks out for his sister while on duty, waving briefly to her while keeping his eyes on the road.
