In my opinion, the Melting Pot is over rated. It's expensive and you have to cook your own food. The only course I really liked was the chocolate at the end of the meal. The other courses were barely OK. I chose steak and by the time I cooked it, it was tough and had no flavor. I wish we had elected to go somewhere else.

Went to the Delmar location for our anniversary. They gave us a great, secluded table. Our waiter was good, and the food was amazing. The eait was a little long between courses but we didnt mind.

We had the tempura and chocolate. Wonderful food and wine. Service was slow towards end of meal. We will be back, only once a year though.

Horrible experience. I wrote a long review detailing four awful experiences including one that made New Year's Eve really crappy, but the system glitched when I hit publish and I'm not retyping. Long story short, the service each time I have been is atrocious. The manager (at least the manager the times we had problems...hopefully for all future diners he is no longer there) does not know how to handle customer service. One time we went, our burner was faulty- did we move to one of the empty tables around us that never filled with customers, no. The manager was convinced there was nothing wrong with the burner (which let me tell you, lukewarm cheese is gross as is lukewarm chocolate) but two other servers knew there was something wrong with it and the table next to use joked we could cook on their burner. We have had servers drop things, forget a lot of things, take forever... but I think the most obnoxious event ever was on New Year's Eve (when there is a "special" menu that is $170 for two people and touts a champagne toast at midnight) our waitress was atrocious, clearly did not want to be there (and I felt her pain, I've waited tables and worked plenty of holidays.... and always managed to put a smile on my face) but she disappeared 20 minutes before midnight and didn't show up again until 15 minutes after... didn't bring our champagne toast until after midnight and we were still in the MIDDLE of our meal when she disappeared.... so we were stuck there for forever after she finally showed up again to drag ourselves through the rest of the dinner she was botching. Andddddddd her horrid service still got her an IMPOSED 20% gratuity because apparently that's what they do on NYE even if it's just a party of two. The service here is awful.... avoid at all costs- we go out of our way to go to the Town and Country location because Delmar is so bad. I'm not sure who is in charge of hiring here, but if it's the one manager we've had to deal with four times, I'm not surprised this place is so bad.

Went for our anniversary & absolutely loved it! Never been before it was so delightful. The St Louis inspired deal was delicious I could've dipped anything in the cheese & it would have been mouth watering. Not to mention our server , Toby (I believe that was his name), couldn't have been any nicer. Explained every course (which there was 4) to the tee. So much variety with seven different sauces for the entree.

My partner and I are huge fans of the Melting Pot, and have visited franchises in a dozen locations. We have always been happy with the great food, prompt service, and friendly managers. However, that was not the case at this St. Louis location. First, we had reservations for 8:30pm, but were not seated until after 9. While our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, the filet mignon that we ordered was so fatty that several pieces were inedible - a first for us, as the steak has always been lovely at other locations. When the manager dropped by our table, we mentioned our concerns. He told us that our wait was normal, and that we should expect a 30 minute wait with a reservation. I found that surprising, as again, we have not had that experience at ANY melting pot, and that includes locations in larger cities (Cincinnati, Chicago, etc). After several frustrating minutes of conversation, where he acted like we were putting him out, he offered to comp one drink each. Great - but then the drinks were added to our final bill anyway. I would wholeheartedly recommend that anyone interested in a great dining experience visit the melting pot. However, I would NOT visit this particular location.
