We went to dinner at Breezeway. First glance, the hotel looked like a dump. There were no cars in the parking lot. We thought twice about going in. Our Waitress, Betsy was one of the most pleasant woman I've ever met. The Calamari was some of the best I've ever had. We also had fried flounder, which was great. The fries were also some of the best I've ever had, nice and crispy. The crab dip was really good as well. This place is worth going to!

I called to see if by chance they had a room available for Sunday night because I assumed they would be booked up for sat night. The front desk person told me they required at least two nights so I then asked if they had sat night as well... She DID!!! My parents and I were just looking for a relaxing weekend, not to have to deal with the crowds on Memorial Day weekend. We checked in sat afternoon and the person at the front desk was very nice, she even makes jewelry that they sell there (its very cute!!!) we have a Large Dog and he was welcome to. The room was Clean, it was not immaculate but for a beach hotel it was better than a lot I have seen. We had the room right next to the front office and expected a little more foot traffic past our room due to this but did not have much of a problem. The hotel was on the sound so you had to walk across to the beach, not far at all and dogs again are allowed on this beach. The water is clear and has sand bars so you can wade out fairly far before being up to your neck in water. We also ate at their Restaurant; the food was decent, a little expensive for what you get... I am on a diet so I asked for a salad at $7 and a 1/2 of peel and eat shrimp. The shrimp was good but the salad was basically lettuce, that they could work on and the service was Special that night, but the waitress was new you could tell so I think later in the season that will be fixed. Over all it was a very pleasant experience and we would stay there again.

My wife and I recently visited Topsail Island and booked a room at the Breezeway. In short, it was a very god experience. The guy that runs the place is named Gregg, and he is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on the sound side, so you have a very nice view, but it's also only about a block from the ocean, which is nice, also. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed it a lot; the staff was extremely friendly and the food was great. I would definitely go back.

My family and I went in for dinner around 6 on Friday night and had to wait about 30 minutes. Not bad because when we left around 7:30 it was an hour and there were a lot of people waiting. Let's get to it, we started off with the crab dip yum!!! Pile it high because the kids will try to steal the little bread pieces. The fish and oyster duo I got was awesome, my girlfriend fish was fantastic and the kids didn't complain about their meals. It is a little school cafeteria style but who cares I'm not an architecture critic just a fat guy looking for some good food. If your on a diet the lettuce may be fried it is a little on the greasy side but it was great food. The bill wasn't crazy and the hushpuppies are very good. Beware of Crabby Mike's in Surf City...

Great seafood. A little expensive, but it's a good treat. The best hushpuppies... almost like donuts.
