Alright, let’s talk some logic. The entire reason you feel anything, the entire reason your body and mind function as they do, is because of an unimaginably large amount of ceaseless chemical chain reactions. These have an incredible impact on the way information is transferred in your brain, leading you to think and feel in certain ways. Take, for example, when endorphins are released: the world tends to look brighter and you tend to feel better. In the same respect, these thoughts and feelings also have an effect on those very chemical reactions that take place in our bodies. Take, for example, when a wolf lunges at you unexpectedly. You take in this information and your body then triggers certain chemical chain reactions to facilitate your ability to survive in this circumstance, such as the release of adrenaline. It's a constant back and forth communication between the two.
When certain chemicals are released in abundance - even the ones you have in your body at this very moment, or the chemicals such as ibuprofen that you take to feel better - they can make you extremely ill and lead to death. The ingredients making up marijuana are just like any other chemicals in nature, in that they are chemicals - literally just substances that facilitate change when they interact with [some] other substances - and are unique unto themselves. To use terms such as "drugs" is extremely ambiguous and misunderstood in most of society today. Drugs can be anything, literally anything. If you are introducing a chemical into your body, and this chemical induces change, it could be called a drug for all intents and purposes. Even food could be viewed as a drug, for all it really is, is a composition of organic and inorganic chemicals being ingested to facilitate change within the body. So is marijuana, except it serves an altogether different purpose, and ironically is safer than food. Even water will kill you before marijuana. Don't believe me? Look up the amount of deaths caused from smoking too much marijuana (0), then look up the amount of deaths caused from drinking too much water (more than 0).
Marijuana does not cause death. In fact, marijuana does not cause anything except acute paranoia and, more commonly, an amazing, creative and care-free euphoria that leaves you calm, collected, and usually a little hungry and tired. In all of my experience with marijuana, an amount of time dwarfed by some [healthy!] people I know, the most common experience I have is that of communion. Marijuana brings people together, it makes new friends, it lends a hand, it makes everyone feel just a little bit better. Asking why I "need" marijuana to have a good time (which I don't) would be akin to asking why I "need" honey in my tea; obviously I don't, but I do like the added flavor.
People are so stuck in their rights and wrongs. There are theories and opinions, both simple and complex; webs of thought constructed by the very strings of reason taken into account to create them in the first place. Most people are just picky about the design of their webs. Worse yet are those who are unwilling to even look at other webs, to look for new strings that might create a stronger web than the weak ones in place.
I don't feel like typing anymore. Marijuana is a choice.
PS: I'm high right now.
