I went to Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens the other day to watch them wrangle hummingbirds and band them.  It was interesting to say the least.  But after the bird wrangling I wanted to photograph...this image is looking back onto the gardens from the large birdhouse.  The birdhouse is filled with finches.  I thought the clouds were spectacular that day too.

This image was taken at the Shelton Winery in Elkin.  It's a beautiful place.  We had a rather warm day, but there was a breeze that made the willows sway and helped keep you cool.  Infrared image taken with a NIkon D40x

This is Murray's Mill north of CharIotte. Infrared image.  I enhanced the color in Topaz everywhere but the trees.  I duplicated the image desaturated one then combined them and painted out the colored trees to reveal the white ones.

This is my first photos shoot since I had my accident 5 weeks ago. Still can't hold the camera, but a tripos will do until I can.

This is Madison. The inspiration was Harlequin. The image is infrared, I added a color layer to the lips and added two black grunge overlays on the image to create the background.

Shot in Albemarle, NC thru a window of a historic homestead.  didn't do much to this image...I did add a texture of text and make the image sepia

An old truck in an overgrown lot near Elkin, NC.  The image was shot in infrared with a Nikon D40x then I ran it through Painter 12 to give it color and the painterly look.

This is my friend Joelle.  She was gracious enough to pose for me so I could get back in the swing of things after breaking my shoulder.  This is the first time I've been able to actually hold my camera in almost 12 weeks.  First because I was in a sling after surgery and secondly because the darn thing weighs so much I had no strength to lift it..  But I am back and so excited to be shooting again.

There is nothing special about this image in the processing.  I just added two background to create what is there.

I agree. I was very happy with the first release. The new format concentrates too much on the chat box and over-sized pictures. the one feature I do like is the auto-expanding side bar that changes based on your resolution.

I am an old school B&W film photographer who reluctantly came over to the digital side.  I still shoot classic B&W, but got off on this tangent of Infrared photographer.  Digital IR opened many doors to how I shoot and what I can shoot in infrared.  It's not the same as B&W IR film, but will do.  :-)  All of this has forced me to get more involved in Photoshop, which has lead me to learn how to make fractal for background and how to create the many fantasy worlds I use in my IR images.
