May I introduce Thomas-Andrew Baxter the newly elected President of the Brigadoon committee
I know that we are in good hands and that he will ensure that the gathering continues to be recognised as the "Premier" Scottish event in Australia.
Thomas Andrew Baxter- President of the Bundanoon Highland Gathering Inc

Born in Motherwell Scotland in 1946.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from the University of Strathclyde.
Advanced Management Programme, Macquarie University.                  Certificate of Marketing Practice, NSW University of Technology,
Senior Executive Program, Federal Public Service
Worked in senior management and executive positions for organisations in all three sectors, government, corporate and not-for-profit, in  England, USA, PNG, New Zealand and Australia, mostly in strategic planning, finance and general management.

Arrived in Australia in 1973 for one year!
Proudest achievement: developing and implementing a collaborative leadership program for the Benevolent Society called Sydney Leadership which brings together people of influence from the three sectors to work collaboratively for the common good.

Arrived in Bundanoon in 2003 to manage the Quest for Life Centre (2003-2006) before commuting back to Sydney to work again for the benevolent Society and the St James' Trust.

Retired in 2011, but re-entered the work force part time managing Wingecarribee Volunteer Centre.

Volunteer work: Has been heavily involved in the local community - past secretary of Brigadoon and the Bundanoon Community Association. Committee member (and participating garden) with Bundanoon Garden Ramble, recently convenor of the clans and fiddlers tent at the Highland Gathering. Thomas has also been nominate to be President of Volunteering Wingecarribee Inc. for 2016
Other volunteer work includes advisor to the Board of the Asylum Seekers Centre in Newtown, Treasurer of the Society of St Francis, director of a philanthropic fund and strategic advisor to a hospitality organisation.

Hobbies: Actor with Crash Test Theatre, Gardening (one acre garden which has been featured on ABC's Gardening Australia) and travel - particularly to Japan and Europe and of course the Highlands of Scotland. The days of daily 18 kilometre jogs and tennis have sadly passed, but long walks with Bryn, his Welsh springer spaniel makes up for some of that loss. Also lots of hospitality to friends visiting from around Australia and the UK.

Partner: Ben Mawston, celebrating 20 years next year.

What's next: Celebrating my 70th next year with a week's hike in the area around Ballachulich and Glencoe -followed by a week in the Outer Hebrides –Magic
