Joe Pasta is an intimate Italian eatery located in downtown Charleston. The menu was brief, but the quality is more than you'll get at a franchise Italian restaurant. Take advantage of the build your own pasta feature and I don't think you can go wrong with a thin crust pizza. I highly recommend the Supreme and the White pizza. Good service, good food and great atmosphere.

It's Christmas and I'm a pilot here for work and don't know anyone - I thought I'd go try Joe's since they seem to be the only place open. It seems like a nice place - but when I got there I asked to sit at the bar but it was full so they sat me (by myself) at a table. I asked to get my order to go (they kept me at the table) and waited about 20-30 min. Finally got my order and wanted to get out of there as soon as possible as I was a bit embarrassed to be sitting by myself at a big table in a crowded restaurant on Christmas. Got back to the hotel and my order was wrong - I cant eat cheese. Nice of them to try but after 30 min of embarrassment I'm still having to order Chinese. Awesome.

A couple of friends and I went to this place by accident (since every other restaurant had a long queue line on King st. except for this one). They other guys had pizza which had a taste and texture similar to a microwaved pizza (not fully cooked, etc.) A friend and I had the chicken parmesan. Big mistake. Our burnt chickens definitely had a great time swimming in the vast ocean of liquid. At least we were well-hydrated after eating half of our meal (which we both were not able to finish). Service was definitely poor (and you can tell that the server hated working there.)

I have been frequenting this place for many years. The last 3 visits have been increasingly disappointing. The most recent visit was my final. To start with, our server was poorly attentive. When she did come to the table she was in too much of a hurry to listen to us and frequently did not get us what we needed, For clarity, the restaurant was NOT terribly busy. The menu changes removed several items we have always enjoyed. The chicken in my Chicken Parmesan was decently flavored but had the texture of frozen food section ingredients. The Gourmet spaghetti my wife ordered was ordinary at best (They used to make a gourmet spaghetti that was fabulous. The server told my wife this would be the same. It definitely was not). The sweet tea lacked sweetness. Summary: If $15 - $20 ordinary tasting Italian food with poor service is your cup of tea then this is the place for you! There are many better alternatives in the Charleston area for the money. My advice is to keep stepping! Oh yeah, there is a nightclub up top. The booming music and loud noise really improves the atmosphere of tight spaces and filthy bathrooms. The Mens room is so small you can't change your mind in it without going into the hallway.

awesome serve and great food. had chicken Parm. the food had rich flavor. I am in town from Seattle and trying new places to eat. I almost skipped trying something new to eat here two nights in a row. it was that good.

Very overpriced for the service and quality of food. Three glasses of tea cost 8 dollars. The Marghartia pizza was paper thin and limp as a wet noodle. Luckily, they took it off my ticket. The chicken Parmesan sandwich had burnt bread and the chicken was soaked in a runny bland tomato sauce. The best part of my meal was the salad. The chip were all burnt; not a one to be saved. we waited 20-30 minutes for this disaster. The ambiance is nice though. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Where do I start... The service was the worst that I have ever encountered anywhere. Our Waiter was clearly not capable of serving that night. He could not remember our drink order two times and constantly wanted us to repeat ourselves. He passed us by when we wanted to order our food or more drinks and even dropped off someone else's drinks at our table and walked away. To top it all off, the guy added an extra $10.00 to his tip after we had left. This forced me to waste my time by calling back and seeing why this was done. Although the entire tip was refunded by the Manager, I am not satisifed and will not return. The food left a lot to be desired for the price and class wise was not as desirable as most Charleston restaurants.

First off the staff are great. However, the food was very poor quality and the drinks were below average. Cheap wine and mostly generic beer. Kinda like an independent olive garden type of place. The staff were really professional and friendly.
