I'm so happy and excited to help my brother plan for his wedding. Obviously suggested +Monique Lhuillier as a must for his wife-to-be wedding dress!

Ulta Beauty
31 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95112
I didn't even know Ulta had a salon until I saw their 25% off Redken hair color services ad online. And yes, I was desperately in need of a color touch-up and fix since City Savvy Salon gave me a horrible ombre. Anyhow, I made an appointment and got Yolonda. At first, I was very nervous due to my previous hair experience from a so-called 5 stars Yelp rating salon. Yolonda made me felt at ease. With 17 years of hair experience, she knew exactly what I wanted when I described my ideal hair. The process took longer than what I had anticipated but I'm extremely happy with the result. I received the color fix & highlights that I wanted. She even fixed the uneven cut that I got a few weeks ago in Albany (yes, another disastrous hair experience- how difficult is it to cut someone's hair straight across?). I love the service that I got from Yolonda. She was pleasant, funny, and most importantly, she took great care of my hair. It's been over three weeks now, my hair still look fantastic and I've noticed that there's very little to none breakage. Yolonda is my go-to hair stylist. I'm willing to wait until I'm in CA to get my hair done properly.

Jack's drive-in is a solid place for quick and easy sliders on the go. I was there for their 75th anniversary celebration and I clearly how they've stayed in business for so long: fast and friendly services. The sliders were okay, but what took it to the next level were the caramelized onions. Do not skip the onions! If you're hesitant, ask for it on the side. Additionally, I enjoyed their cheese fries. It's bound to cure any hangover or the gluttony in you. Non-greasy fries covered with perfectly melted cheese wiz. Oh yeah. With their shakes, it was a miss for me. I had the mocha flavored shake, yet, it tasted like diluted chocolate shake. Overall, Jack's drive-in delivers solid American sliders with a sense of community love on the side.

When it comes to getting comfort food and good happy hours, you will find me at Chili's. I love coming here for their happy hours special. Although the price had slightly increased, they're still comparable to other restaurants around the capital district. I'm not much of a drinker, but it's the sport channels that they have available in the bar area that keeps me coming back. And of course, the friendly staffs! Happy hours: Monday-Thursday 3-6pm; 9pm-close. Friday 3-6pm. Sunday- All day!

In my opinion, Sushi X is one of the best sushi places around the Capitol region with reasonable pricing. It's not just a buffet; they have their regular menu as well. I tend to stick to the all-you-can-eat section because they offer a variety of choices. You can order from their kitchen, which usually includes your soups, salads, appetizers, and small bites. Then they have their sushi menu filled with basic rolls, specialty rolls, and sashimi. Monday- Thursday $19.95, Friday- Sunday $22.95; I believe those are the current prices for the buffet. Also, they have ice cream for dessert. This isn't listed on the menu so you can ask them after your meal. They had only two options last time I was there: vanilla or green tea ice cream. As for services, the staffs tend to doze off and day-dream, but what do you expect? This isn't a five star restaurant. And the 18% tip that is added to your bill is normal for me. Bonus, they open late and the lounge area is quite nice!

Ginger Man is my go to location for chocolate fondue. The first time I went here, I fell in love with their beef stroganoff. Unfortunately, it is no longer on the menu. I've been coming here so frequently that I’ve tasted nearly everything off their menu. My favorite appetizers are: oyster on half shell with sriacha and champagne mignonette, smoked salmon-Boursin roulade with paddlefish roe arugula salad, PEI mussels (seasonal), and steak salad. As for entrees, crispy half duck, roast rack of lamb, grilled halibut, and salmon en papillote. And obviously I would have my usual chocolate fondue for dessert. You can't beat fondue for two at $9. Besides the food, I enjoy their service as well. All the staffs are attentive and sincere.

I loooveeee this deli. A bit pricey for lunch but they have amazing food. Every time I'm here for lunch or dinner, they never seem to fail me. The food always, yes, always comes out perfectly cooked or prepared. However, learning from my many experience, their desserts, specifically baked goods, sucks. I hate to admit it. I have never finished any of their pastries. Stick to the menu and you'll enjoy them as much as I do. And if you want dessert, there is a frozen yogurt place a few stores down.

The best cheesecake in NY! Yes, I said it... in the entire state of NY, not just within the Albany area. NY is known for three things: pizza, bagel, and cheesecake. Mind you, I'm a recovering sweet addict and I still cannot resist the temptation at Cheesecake Machismo. They have over 100 different flavors; seasonally, per requested by customer, or sporadic creativity from the owner. For $5, you get a slice of cheesecake and small coffee. My favorite is still and possibility will continue to be caramel pumpkin. The interior of the shop is corky, retro, and small.
