During this brief window of time in mid-June, turtles emerge from the lakes and streams of the Adirondacks to lay their eggs in soft, sandy areas. Look for them along the side of roads.

The beautiful 1867 Colton Ely map of New York's North Country. Woodcraft is situation almost exactly in the middle. Some of the lakes are misshaped and bit out of place, but it's still a great map and a wonderful piece of Adirondack history.
