Did you know that #AurifilUSA is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year? Ten glorious years of bringing gorgeous Italian thread to the US;). We'll be celebrating all year, but for today we're SO excited to introduce you to #270Colors, the quilt masterpiece that Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill of Whole Circle Studio made to commemorate this awesome milestone. The quilt showcases all 270 #Aurifil colors on our iconic orange 50wt spools. Sheri used #Kona Cotton from Robert Kaufman Fabrics, batting from The Warm Company, and every single color of Aurifil thread. We are over the moon for this one! If you're attending QuiltCon, make sure to swing by our booth (#1056) to see it in person.

To learn more about Sheri's process, check out her guest post on #Auribuzz: https://auribuzz.wordpress.com/2017/02/23/270-colors-quilt-from-start-to-finish/

Last week, we welcomed Kristi McDonough (also of Schnitzel & Boo) to the #Aurifil family and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce you to her today! As our #TechnicalCreativeSpecialist, Kristi will wear a LOT of hats! From being the voice of tips & tricks, to posting tips and answering questions via Thread Matters (a monthly blog series on #Auribuzz), to filming live demo videos, to working with us for shows throughout the year, and more, Kristi will be an active part of our Marketing team. We wanted to take a moment to get to know her a bit better, learn about her background and expertise, and give you all the outlets to reach her when needed!

We love whipping up projects quickly with our sewing machines, but sometimes sitting down and doing some slow stitching is exactly what we need. February is National Embroidery Month and today on the #Auribuzz blog we have rounded up a few of our favorite patterns and tutorials for you to enjoy. Grab your #Aurifil 12 weight thread or #Aurifloss and stitch up one of these fun projects today!

We are in love with Karen of Redbird Quilt Co.'s stunning Valentine <3 If you've ever looked at Karen's quilting and thought, I want to do that... now is your chance! Karen's guest post on #ModaBakeShop gives all the tips you need to create a gorgeous free-motion quilted heart. She used French General and #ModaGrunge by BasicGrey fabrics for Moda Fabrics United Notions and both 40wt and 50wt #Aurifil thread.

"When planning to quilt a dense motif, I lean toward using a finer weight thread like Aurifil 50wt. If the planned motif is sparse, I may choose a heavier weight thread like Aurifil 40 or 28wt — they add a bit of boost to the “quilty” stitches."

#AurifilDesigner Amanda Murphy is on the Brewer blog today talking about her new #Aurifil thread collections! Both collections coordinate with her current fabric lines, as well as her newest line coming out at spring market! We love that she selected several different thread weights for her collections, making them a fantastic addition to your thread stash!
