As the current Headmaster of JIS, Carr is dealing with the aftermath of recent investigations into a serial child molester who taught at JIS for nearly a decade, the alleged abuse of a 6 year-old boy by six janitors at the school, and accusations by an Indonesian Education Ministry official that he is a pedophile.

O'Donnell Clark & Crew LLP attorney Peter Janci was recently interviewed for an #aljazeera America article about the fundamentalist Christian campus of Bob Jones University, and school officials' lack of empathy and support for rape victims who reached out for help:

"This response to rape reports isn't unique to BJU, according to Peter Janci of the Portland law firm O'Donnell Clark & Crew. In the dozens of sex abuse cases he's brought against religious organizations, Janci says he's found this type of victim-blaming reaction to be "all too common."

"We’ve only hit the tip of the iceberg of the issue of sexual exploitation in Protestant churches," said Janci, who grew up in an evangelical home. "They haven’t been held accountable."

O'Donnell Clark & Crew LLP is proud to announce the two newest members of our legal team: Michael "Mickey" Morey and Jacqueline Swanson.

Having tried over 100 jury trials in his career, Mickey is an experienced courtroom attorney and was one of the original pioneers who advocated on behalf of survivors of sexual abuse against the Catholic Church.

Jackie brings years of legal experience representing sexual assault survivors and adult victims of childhood abuse. In addition, she has fought to defend victims’ and employees' rights, to support non-profits and to untangle intricate legal transactions.

We are happy to add Mickey and Jackie to the O'Donnell Clark & Crew team!

+O'Donnell Clark & Crew LLP, Attorneys at Law   attorney Peter Janci accepted the "Kelly W.G. Clark Advocacy Award" on behalf of our firm at the 2014 Sparks of Hope Dinner Auction and Gala on Saturday night.

The award is given to recipients in recognition of their "fierce courage, advocacy, and commitment to abuse survivors everywhere."

Our firm had a great time at the gala, and we appreciate Sparks of Hope for naming their award after OC&C partner Kelly Clark, who helped to pioneer legal advocacy for sexual abuse survivors, and who passed away in December.

What a great honor, and what a great organization!

O'Donnell Clark & Crew attorney Mark O'Donnell spoke at the SE  Works "Sponsor Appreciation Breakfast" about why it is so important for everyone to support organizations that give young people a safe, non-judgmental and encouraging place where they can break the cycles of poverty, abuse, addiction, and lack of education.

In his speech, Mark stressed how crucial it is for young people to have hope. He also pointed out the importance of students having just one person who takes an interest in them and encourages them to overcome their fear.

Our firm is a proud supporter of SE Works and other groups that improve our Portland community!
